They may include reporting, stories of mentees, needs, fundraisers. Pay special attention to the fact that serious charitable organizations do not collect on cards. Lately, it has not been customary to conduct collections even on corporate cards.
- Review financial information: Nonprofit organizations often publish their financial reports on their website. Check how they utilize funds and how much money is allocated to charitable causes. As transparent as possible, organizations publish monthly financial, qualitative and quantitative reports to build trust with donors.
- research reviews and ratings: Try to find reviews from donors and beneficiaries of the organization. Also check independent ratings of charitable organizations, if available.
- Check tax returns: In some countries, charities are required to file tax returns. Check it to make sure the organization is complying with tax laws.
